Wooden Shoe Game Reviews: Topito

Topito

Topito is a children’s game published by Korea Boardgames for 2-4 players ages 6+.  The game is a brilliant mix of dexterity and strategy great for both children and adults.   In the game players take turns turns stacking circus performers (represented by wooden blocks) on top of each other or moving pieces from one stack to another.

Players start the game with a hand of 4 cards each with a unique condition they are trying to accomplish with the pieces.  Once they accomplish the conditions on one of their cards they play it in front of them and draw a new card.   The first person to complete 7 cards wins the game.

While the premise of the game is simple and it is designed for children the strategy involved can make the game fun for adults looking for something lighter.

Nod’s Thoughts:

I loved this game, I had trouble figuring out which card to go or next sometimes but I had fun with the rest.  I want to play this game a lot.

Wynken’s Thoughts:

I liked that you were able to move entire stacks of pieces but that if you made them fall you had to have a penalty and lose one of your cards which made it more.  I enjoyed trying to match the cards to the pieces and get them in the right order to fulfill my cards.

Blynken’s Thoughts:

I enjoyed the penalty for making the stacks fall over because it made the game more difficult.  The different cards were a lot of fun but you were able to work on more card at a time since you had 4 in you hand.  I like this game a lot.
