Wooden Shoe Reviews: Monster Laundry

Monster Laundry

Monster Laundry is a fast paced dexterity game from Haba games for 2-5 players ages 7-99 (turning 100 must be terrible).  In the game players attempt to pull monsters of their color or other colors depending on the wash cycle you’re playing and place them on the clothesline.

To play the game players sit in a circle and take the included clothesline and wrap it around the circle.  They place the included monsters in the middle and take their 8 colored clothespins.  Each round players alternate between trying to find the monsters of their color or the other colors and placing them on the clothesline to their left or right.  The first player to place all of their monsters on the clothesline wins the round.  The first person to get 3 golden clothespins wins the game.

The game is quick and easy to learn but has a few issues namely that it can be chaotic with all of the players grabbing for cards and moving to put them on the line.  This can cause difficulty for younger players who may get frustrated with the dexterity issues.

Wynken’s Thoughts:

I didn’t like the gray monsters because it made it really hard to find my monsters.  A lot o the time people were moving my monsters around trying to find theirs and moving the rope when they were bending over to find their monsters making it difficult.

Blynken’s Thoughts:

I liked the golden clothespins as score points, that was a fun idea.  The gray monsters made finding the right color more difficult and a lot of the time I lost because my monster was hidden under a stack of other monsters.

Nod’s Thoughts:

I liked that you put the monsters on clips and pretend they are laundry.   The game was hard though because I had trouble with the line getting caught on my hands and moving around.
